Refrigerators are often on wheels and can slide across a kitchen during an earthquake. The Refrigerator Strap™ will help keep them in place. Two straps are used: one end is secured to the wall stud in two places behind the refrigerator, and the other end attaches to the side or top of the refrigerator with industrial VELCRO® brand hook and loop fastener. The shear strength of the VELCRO® fastener is 264 pounds for each strap. There is a quick-disconnect buckle that allows easy disengaging for cleaning or moving. (These straps can also be used for vending machines and other large equipment.)
